Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY:
Entry level Mechanical engineer is responsible for all aspects of product development for point of care diagnostic products based on Qorvo Biotech BAW sensors. The position is responsible for instrument and cartridge design from development through manufacturing transfer in coordination with other engineers. Will work closely with software development, electrical engineering, laboratory scientists, and manufacturing engineers to create platform technologies and competitive products for point of care markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, conceptualize, collaborate on mechanical designs for new products that meet project goals
- Generate working prototypes, testing and demonstration
- Develop test plans and executing test plans
- Theoretical design and simulation of mechanical and electromechanical sub-systems
- Create and maintain detail CAD files and 2D drawings
- Design for manufacturability for instrumentation and consumable components
- 合作in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Quality system documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degrees considered
- 0-3 years of mechanical engineering experience. Experience or course work related designing parts machined components, injection molding and die casting preferred. SolidWorks or similar CAD package familiarity
- Some domestic and international travel. Up to 10%
- SolidWorks certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Constant hearing, talking and near vision. Frequent sitting (40%) and standing (moving about) (60%). Good hand/eye coordination, handling of small parts, and reaching. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 35 pounds.
- Constant reading, writing, tact, problem solving, verbal communication and independent decision-making. Frequent written communication.
- Frequently works with others in office, engineering and manufacturing environments. Occasionally exposed to loud noises and lab chemicals.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects. Ability to reprioritize project duties and tasks based on department and business need.
- Excellent communication skills with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
