Sr Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY:

Senior mechanical engineer is responsible for all aspects of product development for point of care diagnostic products. The position is responsible for instrument and cartridge design from development through manufacturing transfer in coordination with other engineers. Will work closely with software development, electrical engineering, laboratory scientists, and manufacturing engineers to create platform technologies and competitive products for point of care markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 计划,conceptualize, create mechanical designs for new products that meet project goals
  • Generate working prototypes, testing and demonstration
  • Develop test plans and executing test plans
  • Theoretical design and simulation of mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Design mechanical and electromechanical systems/product
  • Design for manufacturability for instrumentation and consumable components
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Train and develop junior staff members
  • Quality system documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably 3-5 years of instrument design experience and/or fluidics. Experience designing parts for injection molding and die casting preferred.
  • SolidWorks expertise is required. SolidWorks certification preferred.
  • Constant hearing, talking and near vision. Frequent sitting (40%) and standing (moving about) (60%). Good hand/eye coordination, handling of small parts, and reaching. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 35 pounds.
  • Constant reading, writing, tact, problem solving, verbal communication and independent decision-making. Frequent written communication.
  • Frequently works with others in office, engineering and manufacturing environments. Occasionally exposed to loud noises and lab chemicals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects. Ability to reprioritize project duties and tasks based on department and business need.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of time.
